Birdsong – Cân yr Adar is a collaboration between jazz pianist/composer Gwilym Simcock, singer/songwriter Kizzy Crawford and award winning orchestra Sinfonia Cymru, which fuses jazz, classical and soul-folk music through a collection of spellbinding bilingual songs inspired by the ancient forests of Carngafallt in Powys.
The critically-acclaimed project was funded by the Arts Council of Wales and produced by Morgan-Bell Management in partnership with the RSPB and Sinfonia Cymru Orchestra.
We worked with the project partners to develop the project branding and create an illustrated design to be used across all of the associated promotional materials including posters, flyers and a detailed magazine programme. We further developed a website to accompany the project and tour.
Birdsong received a second round of grant funding to tour the live show including appearances at London Jazz Festival and to record a CD featuring our illustration, which received wide-spread critical acclaim and was played across the BBC radio network including BBR4 and BBCR2.
