Sift brought together six artists based in the east of Ireland and the west of Wales working in different mediums. The artists have been commissioned by Ancient Connections, a four year EU funded project that links Wexford and Pembrokeshire. The exhibition weaves together the themes of journeying, sacred places, ancestral heritage, storytelling and longing for home through photography, animation, sound, ritual, text, story, glass and light. The artists have been inspired by the research and findings of other aspects of the Ancient Connections wider project, such as archaeological excavations, geophysical surveys, historical research, folklore and story gathering, all of which have revealed deep connections between these two regions that go back to at least the Bronze Age.

Themes: journeying, sacred places, ancestral
heritage, storytelling and longing for home.

The ‘Sift’ exhibiton took place in Wales at St. David’s Cathedral and Oriel y Parc Gallery, St David’s on 24 February to 29 March. It then moved to Wexford Arts Centre in Ireland from 14 April to 20 May.

Yume Creative worked with SIFT to produce the artists’ poster boards and descriptions to introduce the artists as well as the marketing and printed materials.
